These 30 minutes were gold for me. In perfect time, too, since the day after I watched this I came face-to-face with WT's latest "IS THE WORLD OUT OF CONTROL" propaganda piece. If my eyes weren't open for data/stats like the ones discussed in this video, I would still be trapped in that depressing WT echo chamber of feeling like we're in the cataclysmic "last days".

Ja, I saw that article at my parents' house, @stuckinarut2. Even though I'm "out", seeing that article gave me the same depressed, sinking feeling I always had as a Witness. Just utter despair and fear. "OUR HEALTH UNDER SIEGE", "HUMAN ATTACKS ON NATURE", and "NATURE'S ATTACK ON HUMANS" were just some of the liberating and refreshing subheadings.
So I marched right over to my father's PC and promptly opened up this page and minimized it for him to discover on his own after I'd left, along with this picture:

@Pete Zahut I think @joe134cd is justified in raising the ban of vaccines by WT to his father since back in the early days, this is exactly what WT did to its members. And these instructions were presented as "scriptural" and from God:
"Vaccination never prevented anything and never will, and is the most barbarous practice . . . We are in the last days; and the devil is slowly losing his hold, making a strenuous effort meanwhile to do all the damage he can, and to his credit can such evils be placed. . . . Use your rights as American citizens to forever abolish the devilish practice of vaccinations." (The Golden Age, Oct. 12, 1921, p. 17)
"Thinking people would rather have smallpox than vaccination, because the latter sows seeds of syphilis, cancers, eczema, erysipelas, scrofula, consumption, even leprosy and many other loathsome affections. Pro-Blood Transfusion Directives for the Ex-JW
by Cimarrona inhey everyone, i have a question... all of my family members are jehovah's witnesses, save my son and me.
if something were to happen to me and i lost consciousness, my parents would be the best of kin called on to make medical decisions.
how do i ensure that if a transfusion is needed, hospital/doctors are clear that i do indeed want a transfusion and that my parents cannot override that decision?

Hey hon, I'd have a word with your GP and ask him what steps you'll need to take so that your hospital record is strictly non-negotiable as pro-transfusions. I'd almost forgotten all about this since fading but when recently in the ER for my son (minor fracture), they checked if all of my details are up to date. They asked about address, phone number... and then religion.
"Jehovah's Witness?" the registrar at the front desk asked.
"NO!" I practically exploded. "Please take that off my son's files. He is open to transfusions should he ever require one. Please mark us with no particular religion."
And just like that, the records were amended.
